For over 40 years, Iranian women have resisted state policies seeking to control their bodies.
Mandatory veiling was one of the first limitations imposed by the Islamic republic on Iranian women.We call on the Iranian government to put an end to policies that control and limit women’s sexual and reproductive rights.
We urge the Iranian authorities to immediately and unconditionally release those imprisoned for protesting the mandatory Hijab. No one should be imprisoned for the way they dress.
